About Chris

During my first semester in graduate school studying secondary education, I had the sudden epiphany that I didn’t like this subject. I struggled to find a job as a teacher. Every interview for teaching jobs went something like this,

Interviewer: “What sports do you coach?”

Me: “I don’t coach anything, I teach.”

That sudden awareness caused a bit of a career crisis, which turned into a personal crisis, that I turned into a therapy appointment.

During that stint in therapy, I learned a great deal about myself. It was as if someone had turned on a light in a dark room and I understood myself in ways I never had before. The counseling process brought new hope and a bit of certainty to my future. This is now what I wanted to do; help others find hope for their future and heal from their emotional pain.

I understand the challenges, as a first-generation college student, I struggled to navigate the demands and expectations of a college student. While most of my friends had lots of free time, I had jobs and worked my way through school.
